Founders

EMI SCHEMMER & DR. ROBERT SCHEMMER

Emi Schemmer founded MOSAIK after feeling there was something missing in the skincare world. She wanted to create a brand built on values she truly believes in — challenging ideals of anti-ageing and “perfect” skin, and instead celebrating authenticity in all its forms. Her vision was to craft a skincare line that’s inclusive and, above all, effective — for every skin type, tone, and age.

Over his 40-year career, Dr. Robert Schemmer has cared for patients around the world, from developed to developing countries. In his dermatology practice in Toronto, Canada, he has treated thousands of people from diverse ethnic backgrounds and observed how skin tone, type, and genetics each play a vital role in determining skin concerns, treatments, and preventative care.

All of MOSAIK's products are dermatologically formulated with safe, tested, and gentle ingredients that are free of parabens, phthalates, formaldehydes, sulfates (including SLS and SLES), mineral oils, diethanolamines (DEA), colours, artificial fragrances, and animal ingredients.

MOSAIK products are vegan, animal-cruelty free, sustainable and ethical. As a (beauty) brand, we believe it is important to carry strong ethical and sustainable values across all pillars of our business. From product development to packaging, communications and sales; every step is carefully handled to ensure that we maintain our core-values and continue to make small steps forward to lead and inspire.

The bioactive (biologically active components that have a metabolic effect on living cells. Includes functional components; amino acids, enzymes, peptides, and vitamins), and phytoactive (active and functioning components with therapeutic effects, extracted from plant material), elements that MOSAIK have carefully selected to use in their formulas are multi-functional and work to help rejuvenate and replenish the skin, bringing it back to its natural, beautiful state.
